The Sports Academy at Brookwood Camps combines the best of sports camps with the best of a traditional camp into one comprehensive experience. Utilizing their more than 75 years of combined experience as owners and operators of both traditional summer camps and sports camps, the Fiedler Family has created a summer program which gives children of varying interests and abilities a chance to thrive at their own pace within a secure, fun-filled, family atmosphere.
Mission & Philosophy
Our goal is for The Sports Academy at Brookwood Camps to provide a healthy balance between skill development and fun that will give our campers the tools and guidance to grow athletically, socially, and emotionally.
Meet Our Directors
Jay Fiedler arrived as a full-time director in the summer of 2013 but has spent a lifetime around both traditional summer camps and sports camps. Jay has been an integral part of Brookwood Camps since the Fiedler family acquired the property in 1986. Growing up in the camp’s atmosphere helped shape his character and prepare him for success later in life.
Scott Fiedler became a staff member at Brookwood Camps in 1986 after spending most of his life as a camper and an acclaimed basketball player. “Camping and sports are in my blood,” Scott says.
Ken and Donna Fiedler purchased Brookwood Camps in 1986 after having served as co-directors at Camp Lenni-Len-a-Pe since 1973. Through Ken’s vision and the experiences of his sons, Scott and Jay, Brookwood Camps has undergone tremendous facility expansion and increased program development.
Facility and Location
Brookwood Camps stands on 160 acres of the former Proctor estate. The park like grounds provide a pristine setting for our campers and staff.
There is virtually no end to the availability of fields, courts, trails and buildings. Boys and girls campuses each have dedicated athletic facilities and are separated by our 6 acre Brookwood Park and the best aquatics center in the camp industry. The facilities are equal for boys and girls as well as uniquely positioned for easy access. The waterfronts reflect golden sunshine on the nearby bunks. A secured long camp road shelters us from unauthorized access.
