1. Private Violin Practice Coaching

Practice the right way to make every practice session count!

Learning how to practice well is essential to the development and success of every music student. Repeating bad habits, lack of focused attention, and the inability to extract specific issues and deal with them efficiently are challenges that students face while practicing. A practice coach can help eliminate these destructive habits and improve the student’s ability to practice with maximum efficiency.

A good practice coach can be an invaluable part of a serious music student’s progress. We hope you’ll take advantage of this unique opportunity to dramatically improve the productivity of your practice time!

  • Provide feed back so that mistakes and bad habits will not be repeated during daily practice
  • Guide the student to practice the hard parts methodically
  • Improve practice efficiency
  • Make the practice session interesting and inspiring

 2. Private Violin Lessons

Lessons are tailored to student's unique learning needs, and repertoire remains flexible so that student is able to learn music which interests him/her. The teacher will ensure the student makes fast and steady progress for all skill levels.

Megan is from South Bend, Indiana and has been playing the violin for thirteen years and teaching for five. She is a first year master’s student at the University of Oregon, studying Violin Performance with a Pedagogy Specialization under Professor Hal Grossman. She recently graduated magna cum laude from Ball State University, earning a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance under Professor Anna Vayman. In the spring of 2019, she was the first violinist to receive the Hilary Hahn Scholarship at Ball State University.

Megan has extensive performing experience at Ball State University, in summer music festivals, as well as in professional orchestras in Indiana. She has collaborated with student composers, as well as performed other chamber music works with colleagues in trios, quartets, and quintets. She performed in the Ball State Symphony Orchestra for four years and had the pleasure of being concertmistress in December 2019. She has been a violinist in the East Central Indiana Chamber Orchestra for three years and is now a board member. She has performed with the Hendricks Symphony Orchestra, Anderson Symphony Orchestra, Kokomo Symphony Orchestra, and the Muncie Symphony Orchestra. She has performed for Lucie Robert, Joel Smirnoff, Oleh Krysa, the St. Lawrence String Quartet, and more. In the summer of 2019, she was a camp assistant and concertmistress at Benefic Chamber Music Camp. She has also attended the Aria International Summer Music Academy, the East Tennessee State University Chamber Music Camp, and the Emerald Coast Chamber Music Festival. She is credited on Sutton Foster’s new album “Take Me to the World'' which was released in 2018.

Along with performing, Megan has a love for teaching. She has taught private and group lessons for five years, including through the BSU Individual Lessons Program, at Burris Laboratory School, the Youth Symphony Orchestras of East Central Indiana, the Elkhart School of Music, and at Motivate Our Minds. During her freshman year, she volunteered to help teach violinists in the Youth Symphony Orchestras of East Central Indiana with Dr. Irina Mueller and the next year became the Director/Assistant Director of the Prelude Orchestra. Later she was the High Strings Violin Coach for the YSO and taught lessons at Motivate Our Minds in Muncie, Indiana.
