Viola Practice Coaching:
A passionate educator, Kody is the graduate assistant to Professor Ayane Kozasa at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. In this role, he teaches undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral Viola and Violin students, on a weekly basis. He also has extensive experience teaching beginner students both online and in person, as well as coaching chamber groups.
An avid lover of chamber music, Kody has recently performed with acclaimed artists including Nobuko Imai, Alexi Kenney, and the Kronos Quartet. He has studied chamber music with members and former members of the Kronos, St. Lawrence, Ariel, Aizuri, and Telegraph string quartets, and has attended summer programs including the St. Lawrence String Quartet Seminar, as well as the Green Lake and Green Mountain Festivals of Music.
As an artist, Kody strongly believes that art and performance play an essential role in society. As such, in addition to participating in more traditional performance settings, he regularly organizes and participates in community outreach. This includes, organizing music for food concerts, playing in both hospitals and retirement homes, and introducing the next generation to classical music via presentations in preschools.
Kody is completing his Master’s in Viola Performance at the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. He holds a Bachelor's degree in the same field from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and has previously studied at the University of California, Irvine. His primary teachers include Ayane Kozasa, Dimitri Murrath, and Jerzy Kosmala.
In his time away from music, Kody enjoys returning to his hometown of Honolulu, Hawaii, to spend time with family and enjoy nature.

Refund for Lesson Packages
You may cancel a lesson package with at least 24 hours' written notice before the next lesson. Completed lessons will be billed at the standard hourly rate, and the remaining balance will be refunded minus a 5% processing fee. The fee is waived if you keep the balance as credit on your TimeAfterSchool account for other lessons.
