Gambledg Tutoring is a small tutoring company run by David Gamble; I am currently the sole tutor. I am an experienced PA certified teacher focusing on history, social studies, English, and ESL  

Mission & Philosophy
I will not help students cheat nor do their work for them. The goal of education is deep understanding as a result of critical thinking, aided by “effective teaching” (I apologize for these buzzwords).  Emphasize the development of higher-level thinking skills, e.g. critical and creative thinking.  I teach in accordance with state, local, and federal laws.  I teach in accordance with the major educational theorists, e.g. Vygotsky, the environmental theorists.

I have a B.A. in History and an M.A. in Liberal Arts from Villanova University emphasizing history.  I am PA certified to teach Social Studies and English and have taught for ten years.  I have taught history for one year in China, and have taught in various school settings, including as an adjunct professor of history for one year.  I have spent my entire life learning about history, US govt, and politics. 

Regarding English, my M.A. included studying English and I am PA certified to teach English.  I taught English for one year in China, and one year in the Philadelphia school system, and numerous days as a substitute teacher.  I also tutored English in China. 

I have worked for Kaplan tutoring the English portion of the SAT.  I have spent my entire life learning and writing about history, US government, and politics, along with reading literature.

I am an enthusiastic and friendly person who is well organized and punctual.  Hard working and persistent, I only want to teach students who want to learn. I can teach ADULTS and children.

• If you decide to book the lesson, pay the balance to the tutor; if you decide not to book the lesson, your deposit will be refunded back to your account

Location
I live in the Western suburbs of Philadelphia, so I can teach in person in the greater Philadelphia area.  If I am teaching online, I can teach anywhere in America, and the world, and I do so on a regular basis.
