Tutoring Subjects:

  • Latin, AP Latin, National Latin Exam
  • Ancient Greek

As a teacher of Latin, straight out of college, my greatest enjoyment came from helping students individually, watching them learn and gain confidence in their Latin abilities. After teaching for a year, I made tutoring my full-time job. During this time, I have used the socratic method; I ask my students specific questions about each of the words in a Latin or Ancient Greek sentence, letting them realize that they know more than they believe they do. Along with building confidence, this builds strong analytical skills in the long run.

Watching students grow and learn Latin or Ancient Greek is my favorite part of the work!

Students of mine have done very well on Advanced Placement (AP) exams in high school, receiving a score of 4 or 5 (5 is the highest score on an AP exam) as well as achieving between a 700 and 800 hundred on the Latin SAT (800 is the highest score on the Latin SAT exam).

I work with students of all levels of Latin and Ancient Greek, as well as students with learning differences and attention difficulties.
