Piano Practice Coaching:
Alex D
I have been studying piano for more than 12 years now. Throughout my musical journey, I have participated in numerous piano competitions and recitals, receiving valuable feedback from multiple professionals. These experiences have provided me with a deep understanding of the art of piano playing. Piano has always been an integral part of my life, and I strongly believe that playing this instrument is a valuable skill that everyone should possess. Not only does it enhance focus and concentration, but it also brings the joy of playing your favorite pieces on your own.
Since my middle school years, I have had the opportunity to teach music to others, which has allowed me to develop an effective plan for various types of lessons. Here's a breakdown of my teaching approach:
First, I provide a concise review of piano theory, adapting the difficulty level based on the student's needs. This includes topics such as note types, symbol meanings, and a comparison of music styles across different time periods, all of which contribute to the art of piano playing.
Next, I begin the lesson with a thorough warm-up session, incorporating scales, arpeggios, and other light exercises. These exercises are essential for building technical proficiency and ensuring a strong foundation.
Finally, the remaining portion of the lesson is dedicated to exploring the student's chosen pieces or ones they wish to learn. While I carefully select pieces that align with their skill level and address specific areas for improvement, I also understand the importance of nurturing their personal interests. Therefore, if students have any preferences regarding the type or specific songs they want to learn, I strive to help them enhance their skills in those particular areas, if necessary.
In summary, my teaching methodology encompasses a comprehensive review of piano theory, a focused warm-up routine, and personalized guidance in mastering chosen pieces. By following this approach, I aim to foster a solid understanding of piano playing and provide an enjoyable learning experience for my students.
