Specifically tailored to build on strengths and improve areas of concern. I strive to build a rapport with each student, which is founded on trust, knowledge, practical skills, and compassion. This whole student approach has helped to achieve maximum results. SAT/ACT Prep includes:

• During the first session, I assess goals, not only in terms of improving test scores but also the student’s college plans.
• Identifying the question types that the student struggles with
• Working on specific, proven strategies to help maximize score results.
• Teaching pacing strategies
• Providing a grammar overview of the most common question types
• Reviewing test day tips and discuss ways to minimize test taking anxiety.

COLLEGE ADMISSIONS ESSAYS

Whether assistance is needed on a Common Application Essay or with supplemental essays, I can ease the pressure and/or worry surrounding college essays.  The personal essay is an opportunity to help students stand out to admissions officers, and one that should not be squandered! My services include:

• Choosing a topic that both paints the student in the best light possible while providing them an opportunity to showcase their uniqueness
• Ensuring that the essay is formatted correctly and follows all necessary guidelines
• Improving vocabulary and syntax
• Making sure that the essay is polished and free of any grammatical or punctuation errors.

ENGLISH TUTORING

In addition to an excellent test score, colleges are looking for students with a solid GPA.  I offer ELA assistance both generally and assignment based from kindergarten through high school. This can include:

• Assistance with choosing a topic for an essay
• Reviewing essays and providing feedback
• Helping with homework
• Re-teaching any course content that may have posed a challenge

I have been teaching and tutoring for more than 15 years. I earned my Masters of Education from Lesley University in Cambridge, where I graduated with high honors, earning a 3.97 GPA. I received my Bachelor’s of Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts and majored in English. My coursework included strategies for inclusive schooling as well as working with ELL students.

An expert test prep tutor, I have helped many students achieve excellent results with both the SAT and ACT exam, with my focus not only on strategies, but pacing challenges and test anxiety as well. In addition to test prep, I assist students with content area studies and college admissions essays. Most recently I was employed by a local tutoring franchise for 4 years. Currently, I am employed by Lexington Public Schools. I am fluent in English, Greek, and Spanish. In my free time I love to read, write, hike, jog, and spend time with my husband and three young daughters.

Refund for Lesson Packages

You may cancel a lesson package with at least 24 hours' written notice before the next lesson. Completed lessons will be billed at the standard hourly rate, and the remaining balance will be refunded minus a 5% processing fee. The fee is waived if you keep the balance as credit on your TimeAfterSchool account for other lessons.

Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

• Standard Policy: Provide at least 24 hours' notice before the scheduled start time to cancel or reschedule a lesson free of charge. Cancellations or reschedules with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur the full lesson fee.
• Grace Period for Packages: For each packages of 10 or more lessons, you are allowed one late cancellation or rescheduling (with less than 24 hours' notice) without penalty to accommodate unexpected situations. Any additional late cancellations or changes beyond this one-time exception will be charged in full.

Adult Supervision

All tutoring sessions for students under 18 years old must be supervised by a responsible adult.
