Classic Reading: Focusing on classic American and English literary works, students are invited to expand their reading range, improve their reading ability, and cultivate students' correct reading methods.
Writing Contest Prep: this course aims to enable students to learn the writing rules, norms, habits, methods, techniques and styles of corresponding types of writing by exploring different types of English literature, enhance their sensitivity to English language and characters, and improve their use of English ability to write.
Depending on their grade and level, teachers will have different requirements and will set goals accordingly.
For students in grades 3-6, this writing course will systematically teach 6 types of composition that students to enhance the skills they learn in school: decriptive, narrative, expository, persuasive, creative, response to literature. This course will introduce students to the structure and writing skills of each of the above types of essays, while organazing and guiding students to participate in writing competitions or magazine submissions appropriate to their grade level.
For students in grades 7-8, this writing course will focus on the types of competition essays in the Scholastic Awards Writing Contest, and guide students to write competitive articles according to the high-level requirements of the competition, and lay a good foundation for winning the prize when formally participating in the writing competition in the future. These competition essay types include: personal essay, short story, flash fiction, humor, fantasy and science fiction, novel, poetry, dramatic script.
All Teachers have teacher's license and many years of teaching experience.
