Practice in the right way to make every practice counts!
Learn how to practice well is essential to the development and success of every music student. Repeating bad habits, lack of focused attention, and the inability to extract specific issues and deal with them efficiently: these are challenges that students face in the practice. A practice coach can help eliminate these destructive habits and improve the student’s ability to practice with maximum efficiency.
A good practice coach can be an invaluable part of a serious music student’s progress. We hope you’ll take advantage of this unique opportunity to dramatically improve the productivity of your practice time !
Violin Practice Coaching:
Hannah J
Hannah is a rising high school senior. Starting her violin career in 2011, at five years old, she has been playing for over 12 years. She has performed in well-recognized orchestras, various
competitions, and performances since.
For the past 7 years, she has been studying violin under the tutelage of Ms. O Khroulevitch. She has participated in several competitions such as the 2019 Young Musician Inspiring Change (YMIC), where she received 1st place, and performed at the Winner recital for YMIC at the Lincoln Center in New York. She has also competed in the Great Composers Competition “Master of Violin Concerto” in 2020, where she received 3rd place, and the American Fine Arts Festival Online Stay at Home International Competition in 2021, where she received 1st place and performed at the Winners Concert at Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall in New York in 2022.
Recently, she received 3rd place in the North Virginia Music Teacher’s Association (NVMTA) Concerto Competition Upper Strings Senior Division in 2023 and 1st place in the Maryland State Music Teacher’s Association (MSMTA) Solo String Instrument Spring Festival Senior Division in 2023.
Besides her classical journey, Hannah has volunteered as a violinist at her local church, the Keen Benefit Online Concert for the disabled, local elderly homes, and school events. From the
experiences, she has discovered the power of practicing on her performance and has recognized her fervor for playing music she is proud of. She hopes to share this passion with younger students who are still tinkering with their dedication to the violin.
Hannah is an experienced tutor at her local Korean School, who has interacted with young students in elementary and middle school. She is hard-working, patient, and fond of children. She speaks fluent Korean and English. Hannah is strong in performance skills, communication skills, and interpreting pieces.
