For the past 14 years, I’ve been teaching Spanish, English Writing as well as Psychology and Sociology at the university level. I have also taught English as a Second Language to children, adolescents, and adults in the U.S. and Spain, and for a private education company.

I majored in Psychology with a Minor in English from The College of New Jersey, a Master’s in Sociology from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and have certification for Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL).

Each session I typically review, look at homework assigned; immerse in new material. I assign new material between sessions so that you can steadily keep pace with your academic achievements. Recognizing that there is no “cookie cutter” or single approach to learning, I utilize various methods and techniques, whether that be visual reinforcement, discussion, and games, to writing, note-taking, and straightforward presentation. I even sometimes utilize music and pop culture, particularly for language learning. I adapt to the needs of each student and am always open to feedback on preferred learning styles.  I also tutor GRE, SAT, GED, Praxis, Debate, and general English Literature and Composition..

Refund for Lesson Packages

You may cancel a lesson package with at least 24 hours' written notice before the next lesson. Completed lessons will be billed at the standard hourly rate, and the remaining balance will be refunded minus a 5% processing fee. The fee is waived if you keep the balance as credit on your TimeAfterSchool account for other lessons.

Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

• Standard Policy: Provide at least 24 hours' notice before the scheduled start time to cancel or reschedule a lesson free of charge. Cancellations or reschedules with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur the full lesson fee.
• Grace Period for Packages: For each packages of 10 or more lessons, you are allowed one late cancellation or rescheduling (with less than 24 hours' notice) without penalty to accommodate unexpected situations. Any additional late cancellations or changes beyond this one-time exception will be charged in full.

Adult Supervision

All tutoring sessions for students under 18 years old must be supervised by a responsible adult.
