Course Description:
This Grammar Course will expose students to explanations of grammar and vocabulary, with lessons that keep them motivated and excited to learn. They will practice the grammar skills that are challenging, polish skills they are familiar with, and stretch themselves to explore skills they have not yet attempted.
Homework will be assigned at the end of each class. It is to be completed by the date provided. Like the course, the homework is meant to be motivating, challenging and engaging.
With clear, strong grammar skills, students have the ability to communicate effectively with written and spoken language. Basic grammar skills also help students organize their ideas and plan ahead for written projects and oral presentations.
This course is aligned with the Common Core State Standards. Standards can be found next to each corresponding lesson.
Grade 3 – Fall 2025
Students will finish the summer semester's textbook of building a solid grammar foundation as they study linking and helping verbs, irregular verbs, contractions, pronouns, adjectives, articles, and adverbs. Once the summer textbook is finished, students will begin the next textbook: Scholastic Success With Grammar, Grade 3. Lessons include fun Kahoot and Blooket games to reinforce learning in an engaging way. Homework consists of pages from the assigned grammar textbook, helping students practice and master new concepts.
Grade 4 – Fall 2025
This class begins with an in-depth review of homophones, adjectives, articles, and adverbs before moving on to a new grammar textbook: Scholastic Success With Grammar, Grade 4. Students will enjoy Kahoot and Blooket games that make grammar practice interactive and exciting. Homework assignments come from their textbook and support mastery of each skill.
Grade 5 – Fall 2025
Fifth graders will explore advanced grammar topics, including clauses, complex sentences, appositives, essential and non-essential clauses, adjectives, adverbs, acronyms, double negatives, commas, colons, prepositional phrases, and pronouns. Once the summer textbook is finished, students will begin the next textbook: Scholastic Success With Grammar, Grade 5. Kahoot and Blooket games keep practice fun while reinforcing key lessons. Homework consists of pages from their new textbook, giving all students fresh and challenging material.
Grades 6–8 – 2025 Academic Year
Middle school students will work through a comprehensive 24-chapter grammar textbook designed to last three semesters (summer, fall, spring). Over the summer term, we completed the first 4 chapters. Lessons feature Kahoot and Blooket games to make review sessions fun and engaging. Homework includes textbook pages that provide consistent practice and build mastery of grammar concepts throughout the year.
Ms. Kayla holds a Master of Arts degree in English Literature and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, both from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas. With five years of teaching experience, she has worked with elementary and middle school students, specializing in courses such as Wordly Wise, grammar, and writing. Ms. Kayla is known for her adaptability and versatility, excelling at creating engaging hands-on lessons that ignite children's imaginations and foster academic success. She is a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and dedicated educator who is passionate about ensuring that all children become successful learners. Students appreciate her clear communication and the friendly learning environment she cultivates. Many students have even recommended her to their parents after experiencing her classes.
Customer satisfaction is our top priority. If you are not satisfied, we offer100% refund after the 1st trial class. If the withdrawal happens after the 2nd class, refund will be prorated. If the withdrawal happens after the 3rd class or future classes, no cash refund will be made. Instead, you can use the remaining class tuition (prorated) to sign up for other classes or save it as credit for future classes. No refunds for missed classes. We reserve the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment.
