In this course, children will learn to become familiar with Spanish, developing speaking, listing, reading, and writing skills. Children will learn greetings and farewells, express personal information, numbers 1-50, vocabulary topics like: colors, fruits, vegetables, and a lot more.
Spanish Beginner 1
In this course, children will learn express personal tastes, pain, read short sentences, listen and write in Spanish, developing speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. They will learn vocabulary: body part, most used verbs, sports, food, family members, and much more.
Intermediate Spanish
In this course, children will learn to express your feelings, tell what time it is, order a meal at a restaurant, location, listen and write in Spanish, and will continue to develop their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills even more. They will learn vocabulary for weather, numbers 100-200, adjective, restaurant terms, prepositions, places, and a lot more.
Ms. Valentina is a passionate educator with over 20 years of experience teaching French and Spanish to students of all ages. She holds a BA and MA in French Language and Literature from Sofia University, along with certifications in Spanish and teaching licenses across multiple states. Currently teaching at ElevateK12, she previously taught at Fischer Middle School and has been a popular instructor. Known for her engaging and tailored lessons, Ms. Valentina is dedicated to inspiring a love for languages and helping students build confidence and proficiency.
Ms Christina is an experienced and passionate educator with certifications in Social Studies, English, French, Gifted Education, and ESL. She currently teaches both virtually and in-person, working with students from elementary to high school. Christina specializes in creating engaging, challenging, and creative learning experiences that encourage students to think critically and explore new ideas. This summer, she is excited to help students grow their skills, spark curiosity, and have fun while learning!
Ms Deborah is currently pursuing a PhD in Philosophy at Marquette University, with a secondary focus in classics. With over 30 years of experience in teaching languages and humanities, alongside her work as a writer, editor, translator, and interpreter, she brings a rich and diverse expertise to her students. She has over a decade of experience teaching Latin at the University of Pennsylvania and in high schools.
Her students frequently commend her engaging teaching style and the significant progress they make under her guidance. Many excel on the National Latin Exam (NLE) and often place out of the first two years of college-level foreign language requirements. Deborah employs traditional teaching methods, using high-quality textbooks, clear explanations, extensive drills, and regular homework to ensure her students develop a strong and comprehensive understanding of the language. She is deeply passionate about building a solid foundation for her students, believing that early mastery will benefit them throughout their academic and personal lives.
Ms. Shupp (called “Magistra” by students - teacher in Latin) has an undergraduate degree in Latin and Classical Humanities in addition to Secondary Education. Her Master’s Degree is in Interdisciplinary Humanities and focused on the confluence of visual art and ancient Latin. Michelle was raised in a bilingual household, as her mother was born and raised in Korea. While she speaks six languages, she is most passionate about Latin for students. She has been teaching high school students from Latin I - AP Latin for 24 years and hopes to teach for 24 more! Her students consistently perform well on the National Latin Exam and many have tested out of their college foreign-language requirements. Michelle balances rigorous grammatical and vocabulary instruction and practice with a solid foundation in the context of Ancient Roman society and its influence on the modern world.
Mr. Simpson is a veteran Spanish teacher of 27 years both in the classroom and online. He majored in Spanish in college and then earned his MAT in Hispanic literature and linguistics from UMass Amherst. Mr. Simpson has traveled to more than seven different Spanish-speaking countries and has lived extensively in Spain, Chile, and Honduras. His favorite word in language learning is “appropriation” which occurs when learners take something foreign/unknown to them, and make it their own through interactions, learning, and speaking the language.
Charlotte Richards is soon-to-be high school freshman. She completed grades 5 through 8 at a private Japanese school. She started learning Japanese art at the age of 5 from a private Japanese educator and participated in a summer camp in Tokyo in 2016. In 2019, she entered the annual Japanese speech contest hosted by the Japanese Consulate of Chicago and won first place in the elementary and middle school category. The event was reported in a local newspaper (pictured above). She also passed level 2.5 of a standard kanji test for Japanese natives (level 10 being the lowest, and 1 being the highest). Charlotte enjoys learning different languages and derives even more pleasure from sharing her knowledge with others. In addition to Japanese, Charlotte is fluent in English and Chinese, and is progressing to that level in Spanish. She is currently a private Chinese tutor for young language learners. She is excited to have the opportunity to teach elementary Japanese to both adults and children.

If the withdrawal happens after the 3rd class or future classes, no cash refund will be made. Instead, you can use the remaining class tuition (prorated) to sign up for other classes or save it as credit for future classes. No refunds for missed classes. We reserve the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment.
