Lisa
Critically acclaimed for her virtuosity and versatility, Lisa performs internationally as a soloist, chamber artist, and orchestral musician, having appeared with the Nova Filarmonia of Portugal, the National Orchestra of New York, the National Symphony Orchestra of Mexico, the Lehigh Valley Chamber Orchestra, and the Greenwich Village Orchestra, with concert engagements at notable venues such as the Phillips Collection, the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series, the Frick Collection, and Merkin Concert Hall.
Lisa, a prizewinner of the 15th Louise D. McMahon International Music Competition and the Artists International Special Presentation Award, presented her solo debut at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, has recorded on the Digital Concerto, Albany, and Arabesque labels, and her solo recording of Doubles by Judith Zaimont was named to Chamber Music America’s Century List; she has 11 solo oboe and chamber music commissions funded by the Minnesota Composers Forum and the Aaron Copland Fund for New Music, and has been featured on NPR, WQXR, Voice of America, CBS Sunday Morning, and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
As a member of the Manhattan Wind Quintet, Lisa was a finalist in the Walter W. Naumburg Foundation Chamber Music Competition and won prizes in the Coleman, Fischoff, Monterey, Yellow Springs, and Chamber Music Chicago Competitions; she also created a widely adopted educational model during her 9-year tenure as Director of Chamber Music for the New York Youth Symphony and was awarded the Chamber Music America Heidi Castleman Award for excellence in chamber music teaching.
She is currently an Assistant Professor of Oboe & Chamber Music and has previously taught at the Bowdoin International Music Festival, Eastern Music Festival, Central Michigan University, Oklahoma State University, and Moravian College.
Most recently, Lisa earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, studying with New York Philharmonic oboist Sherry Sylar; her dissertation on the New York Chamber Music Society, 1915-1937, was funded by the Baisley Powell Elebash Research Fund, and she holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Oboe Performance from the Philadelphia College of the Performing Arts and a Master of Music degree from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, having studied with notable instructors such as Robert Bloom, Mason Jones, and John Krell.

Refund for Lesson Packages
You may cancel a lesson package with at least 24 hours' written notice before the next lesson. Completed lessons will be billed at the standard hourly rate, and the remaining balance will be refunded minus a 5% processing fee. The fee is waived if you keep the balance as credit on your TimeAfterSchool account for other lessons.
