Dr. Aleksandra, a native of Slovakia/Poland, came to the USA in 2002. Since then, she has not only grown fond of the New World but also found a new home, family, and friends. She holds a Doctor of Arts degree in flute performance from Ball State University and is a versatile player. Aleksandra serves as the principal flute for the LaPorte and Elkhart Symphonies, the Lyric Opera of South Bend, and the Sacred Music Festival Orchestra of Notre Dame.
In addition to her love for orchestral and chamber music collaboration (woodwind trio, woodwind quintet, flute and guitar, flute and clarinet), Aleksandra is a devoted educator. She holds several university positions as an adjunct professor of flute at Indiana University South Bend, IN; Andrews University, MI; Bethel University, IN; and St. Mary’s College, IN. Aleksandra has given and attended many master classes and concerts throughout the USA and Europe, studying with renowned teachers such as Julius Baker, Jeanne Baxtresser, Marina Piccinini, Trevor Wye, William Bennett, Sir James Galway, Jean-Pierre Rampal, Phillip Bernold, and Janos Balint, among others. She is also trained as a Suzuki method educator and enjoys being multilingual, which allows her to appreciate the multicultural environment she grew up with.
