✍️ Advanced English Literature
Grades 9–11 | Tuesday, 7:30–9:00 PM
This advanced-level literature course is designed for high school students who are passionate about reading, writing, and critical thinking. Students will engage with a rich selection of classic and contemporary texts—including poetry, short stories, and at least one novel—and participate in guided discussions to explore literary themes, authorial choices, and language techniques.
Students will practice both analytical and creative writing, strengthening their ability to respond to literature with insight and originality. Individualized writing feedback and structured assignments will help students develop strong essay-writing skills and prepare for advanced coursework such as AP English.
For students who completed Accelerated Reading & Writing in a previous semester, this course offers a natural next step. New students are also welcome and will complete a benchmark writing assessment to ensure appropriate placement.
This course is ideal for students in Grades 9–11 who are ready for an intellectually challenging English experience that fosters independent thinking and prepares them for AP-level studies.
