Our program reflects the changing needs of children and offers new challenges as they progress through the villages. The guiding principle of all our programs is to give each child the opportunity to enjoy a full range of activities designed for fun, participation and skill development.
Woodmont’s Swim Program
Our Developmental Swim Program is consistent with the American Red Cross “Learn to Swim” instructional program. We have customized the Red Cross program in order to provide the best possible environment for each camper to advance.
Campers are placed in small groups based on comfort and skill levels. Whether working on learning basic skills in shallow water or perfecting challenging deep water techniques, campers will progress through the Woodmont Swim Levels.
Our Swim Directors and pool staff are certified American Red Cross Lifeguards and Water Safety Instructors. Village Leaders closely monitor the swim progress of each camper in their care.
Recreational swim periods provide opportunities for campers to enjoy water play with their friends, practice their skills, play instructional games and participate in Friday Pool Dancing.
Food Glorious Food!
Our campers and staff tell us that our food is excellent. In addition to a daily hot entree, we provide a full salad bar as well as fresh fruit. If a camper does not like the entree, we offer bagels with cream cheese or butter or plain bagels, a variety of yogurt, cheese sandwiches, and pasta salad.
At 2PM campers enjoy a fresh fruit snack; watermelon, apples, oranges, etc. Each day ends with a visit to our Ice-Cream Shack for a delicious treat.
We are nut aware and do not serve any products that contain peanuts or tree nuts. We have a Dietary Specialist whose role at camp is to work closely with any campers that have allergy or dietary restrictions. All of our foods are 100% trans fat free.
Air Conditioned Transportation
At Woodmont we believe camp begins as soon as your child steps onto the bus in the morning and ends when he or she gets off the bus at the end of the day. Each bus has a bus counselor who ensures the campers are safe and engaging them in fun activities. Click here to see a sample of our Bus Activity Calendar. Our busses pick up at your door in Bergen/Rockland/Westchester and on your nearest corner in NYC.
Parents also have the option of driving to and from camp. Drop-off is between 8:35AM and 8:45AM while pick-up is between 4:10PM and 4:20PM. Parents who select this option receive a tuition credit of $100 off per week.

Participation, Instruction and Sportsmanship
We believe that athletic skills are built on a foundation of participation, instruction and sportsmanship. Learning basic skills, practicing drills, playing games, and engaging in age appropriate competition in our safe and supportive environment provides our campers with the confidence to improve and to excel. At Woodmont, everyone participates, gains confidence, increases skills and has fun! Campers who may not have enjoyed sports at school or recreational leagues, find sports at Woodmont a safe place to learn and grow.
Our carefully planned curriculum is taught by experienced sports specialists. Every field and court is staffed full-time by college graduate-level experts, most of whom are Physical Education teachers, certified coaches and parents. Our Athletic Staff team members are passionate about sports and working with children.
If You Can Imagine It, We Can Help You Create It!
At each Creative Arts location our staff members inspire, guide and encourage campers to recognize and develop their creative potential. Our activity specialists are artists and professionals in working with children. They challenge our campers to explore their talents whether it be to design, build or make individual or group projects.
Campers are given hands-on opportunities to express themselves in activities that include arts and crafts, painting, drawing, sculpting, ceramics, mixed media, cooking, and jewelry making. Woodmont campers catch the spirit of imagination, color and light as they use many exciting mediums to bring out their inner artist.
All Creative Arts’ activities are led by skilled instructors with age appropriate lessons and projects.
Being Outdoors is What Camp is About
Our breath-taking waterfall welcomes you to our 50 acres of beautiful woodlands, streams, trails and open space. Campers have the opportunity to fish in our pond, hike through our trails, hit bulls-eyes on our targets and bike on our 1/4 mile track.
Our Animal Farm allows our campers to connect with and care for an amazing array of animals including calves, sheep, goats, chickens and ducks.
Being outdoors is a large part of the day camp experience. Campers at Woodmont have the ability to explore nature with our talented staff.
Our state-of-the-art Adventure Course provides campers with the opportunity to challenge themselves through low and high elements culminating in a 50 foot zip line or a 30 foot “quick jump.” Climbing towers, zip lines and a giant swing allow campers to push themselves to new heights.
The newest addition to our Adventure Program is our American Ninja Warrior Course. Campers can climb the “warped wall”, swing through the rings and traverse through our balance logs. It is an amazing opportunity to increase agility and flexibility!
Special Events at Woodmont
Every Wednesday is a Special Event at Woodmont where the schedule is altered to allow campers to participate in unique themed activities. Special Events provide campers a break from their “Normal” Routine.
Check out our Summer Calendar to see a sample of our Special Event Days. These included Carnival, Gold Rush, and WOODLYMPICS just to name a few of our favorites. Special Event Days give our campers a chance to experience activities that are not on their everyday schedule.
Our Mission & Philosophy
Our core values of Kindness, Confidence and Respect are integral parts to both our philosophy and program. Campers and staff promote these values daily with team building activities, catching campers “doing something good” and discussions about what it means to be kind, confident and respectful. Camp is an opportunity not to just work on swimming, sports and arts but on ways to become better people. At Woodmont we make this happen every day.
Sending a child to camp is a tremendous act of faith by parents. At Woodmont, we take that responsibility very seriously and maintain an environment that encourages both safety and health and reinforces a positive self-image. We aim to provide campers with opportunities for emotional and physical growth, encourage their natural abilities and instill in them the benefits of participating in a group. Our ultimate goal is to provide an enjoyable, exciting summer experience that motivates our campers to approach the future with courage, confidence and a feeling of self-worth.
At Woodmont Day Camp each camper feels the warmth and comfort of home. The Woodmont experience provides a dynamic program in an environment which fosters growth and independence for every child. The relationships that children form with each other and with our staff provide the foundation for the Woodmont experience. It is through these relationships that our campers can learn about themselves and others.
Woodmont is a place where everyone feels welcome and as a part of our extended family. We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you into the Woodmont family.
