Sylvan Learning Center in Hamilton provides customized academic coaching & tutoring to students in grades preK-12 & college who are looking to catch up, keep up, or get ahead! We support our students in subjects such as math, reading, writing, SAT/ACT prep, study skills and science as well as homework help. 

We also hear from parents who would like for their kids to have more exposure to certain subjects so they can get ahead in school- maybe take advanced classes or receive ongoing homework help to ensure their grades stay high in those classes. We also provide support for upper level tutoring subjects such as Alg I & II, Pre-Calc and Calculus, Chemistry, Biology &  Physics.

Our 1:1 SAT & ACT prep is also quite popular in our center along with our advanced reading course to help students read faster and with greater reading comprehension. We have full length diagnostic tests, expert teachers that provide individualized instruction to help students reach their score goals.

MARK B. KANCE, MASTER OF ARTS IN TEACHING

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR & ACADEMIC COACH

Mark is a results-driven educator & director with more than 17 years of experience helping students improve their academic skills, confidence & motivation in reading, writing, math, study skills, science, SAT & ACT Prep. He grew up in West Windsor / Plainsboro and graduated from TCNJ with a Master of Arts in Teaching and an undergraduate from Hofstra University.

Mark meets with every family to understand the needs of their children & utilizes all resources to ensure they receive the best personalized instruction with State Certified Teachers.

AMY KANCE, MANAGING DIRECTOR

The Sylvan Learning of Hamilton is a family affair! Amy joined her husband, Mark in 2012 as a Managing Director. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree where she graduated Magna Cumme Laude.

At Sylvan, Amy manages center operations, meets with parents to discuss student progress, conducts Sylvan Skills Assessments in Math, Reading, Writing, Study Skills, SAT /ACT / SSAT / PSAT. Amy also manages the teaching staff and handles scheduling.
