Since 2009, the Xuejuan Dance Ensemble (XDE) has been dedicated to the education and performance of Chinese dance.  Based in Herndon, VA, XDE offers varied, rigorous, and comprehensive training in the ethnic, contemporary, and classical genres of Chinese dance.  The ensemble provides training in technique and repertoire to young children, pre-teens, teens, and adults through a diverse curriculum instructed by professional educators.   

XDE works with dancers based in other cultures to promote cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.  XDE has performed widely in the DC metro area, including the Kennedy Center (Millennium Stage & National Dance Day), notable dance festivals (Atlas Intersections, World Dance Showcase, VelocityDC, DanceFest), Smithsonian Folklife Festival, the Chinese Embassy, and Fairfax County Summer Entertainment Series.  Members of XDE also compete at various American and Chinese dance competitions.
