2. Private Cello Lessons
Lessons are tailored to student's unique learning needs, and repertoire remains flexible so that student is able to learn music which interests him/her. The teacher will ensure the student makes fast and steady progress for all skill levels.
Lazar
Boston-based cellist Lazar has shared his music around the world as both a chamber musician and soloist. He is currently pursuing his studies at the New England Conservatory, where he has often served as principal cellist of the Conservatory Symphony Orchestra. He also holds the position of principal cellist with Symphony Pro Musica, under the baton of Mark Churchill.
Lazar has been recognized with numerous awards, including First prize and a special prize at the International New York Solo Competition, First prize at the Concord Young Artist Competition, and the Grand prize at the Fidelity Investments Young Artist Competition. His major solo appearances include Elgar’s Cello Concerto with the Concord Orchestra, Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto No. 1 with the AIMS Festival Orchestra, Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations with the Waltham Philharmonic Orchestra, and Tchaikovsky’s Pezzo Capriccioso with the Boston Pops.
In 2024, Lazar was selected as a student fellow at both the Sitka International Cello Seminar in Alaska, directed by Zuill Bailey, and the Sarasota Music Festival in Florida. Recently, he joined the faculty of the Vivace Music School and the Onset School of Music, and also serves as manager of youth orchestras at the Brookline Music School.
Lazar’s past teachers include Nancy Hair and Lluis Claret, and he is currently studying with Professor Julie Albers at the New England Conservatory.

Refund for Lesson Packages
You may cancel a lesson package with at least 24 hours' written notice before the next lesson. Completed lessons will be billed at the standard hourly rate, and the remaining balance will be refunded minus a 5% processing fee. The fee is waived if you keep the balance as credit on your TimeAfterSchool account for other lessons.
