History
Camp Allegheny ran its first summer program in 1949 as a ministry of the Evangelical United Brethren (EUB). The Camp has been affiliated with the United Methodist Church (UMC) since the EUB and the Methodist Episcopal Church merged in 1969. While affiliated with the UMC, Camp Allegheny is an ecumenical and diverse ministry, hiring staff from a diverse range of Christian faith traditions, from Pentecostal to Roman Catholic and everything in between. We hire a diverse staff because we serve a diverse population of campers, some of whom come from a faith background and some of whom have no faith background at all.
