Our full-day campers have scheduled activities daily that are age appropriate and lots of fun. Their schedule consists of arts and crafts, sciences, sports and culinary areas. These campers also have instructional swim lessons daily, taught by Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructors, that are geared to their specific abilities. Our program is built with progression in mind.
Each year a camper returns to Eagle's Landing, there is something new that they've never done before. Starting in 2nd grade, campers pick one activity, or club, each week that they will take part in once per day. Starting in 3rd grade, campers participate in our Elective Program. Each week campers add to their schedules by choosing their activities of interest.
As campers grow with us, the number of elective choices increases. Campers in grades 3 and 4 have 8 total elective periods. When campers reach 5th grade, we bump the number of electives they have to 10 periods each week. When campers are entering 7th grade, the majority of their schedule is elective based.
A Typical Day
The activities vary daily and include two swim periods as well as sports, art, science, baking, cooking, free play and so much more. The swim instructors and lifeguards for our aquatics program are trained by the American Red Cross. They earn their Water Safety Instructor certification, which qulaifies them to evaluate each camper's progression and instruct accordingly.
Food
Eagle’s Landing provides a hot, nutritious lunch program for all campers. We provide a tasty menu that rotates throughout the summer. A hot entree is available every day and includes healthy, kid-friendly foods.
Our salad bar includes fresh garden salad, fat-free fruit yogurt and fresh fruit. In addition, we have tuna, kosher turkey and Sunbutter and jelly sandwiches on whole wheat bread and whole wheat bagels with cream cheese or dairy-free margarine.
- All campers are offered a healthy mid-morning snack.
- We offer fresh fruit, ice cream or ices every afternoon.
- We are "nut aware" meaning that our food is free of all nut products.
- Our food is free of trans-fats and nothing is fried.
- We can accomodate most allergies or dietary restrictions.
- We celebrate birthdays during lunch with a special treat.
Health
We always have two Registered Nurses on staff during the camp day in our Wellness Center. A pediatrician is on call.

Aquatics
Instructional Swim - Instructional swim is scheduled every morning for all campers in grade 6 and below. Campers are assigned to a swim instructor based on swimming ability and skill set. All classes are based on the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program and taught by certified Water Safety Instructors.
Free Swim - Each afternoon, all campers are given the opportunity to cool off and have fun in our pools.
Spray Park - Our spray park is a great way to cool off on a hot day.

It's very simple at Eagle's Landing: we love kids and helping them grow! We pride ourselves on our ability to make sure every camper leaves feeling good about themselves. Every day is a new adventure, whether it's making a new friend, passing the deep water test or creating an amazing project. Our ultimate goal is for each camper to have a safe, incredibly fun summer where every child can make friends, accept challenges and develop self-confidence. Our leadership team is comprised of over 40 certified teachers who share their passion and expertise with our campers. Our program empowers your children to try new things and learn new skills. Through the elective program, campers starting in grade 3 choose the actvities that interest them the most. Meet Our Director
Barry Wasserman, Ph.D., and Ruth Ann Weiss, Owners/Directors
Barry has been a Camp Director for 30 years. Prior to creating Eagle’s Landing, Barry was the Director of both Eagle River Day Camp in Monroe for 8 years and Lake-Vu Day Camp in East Brunswick for 14 years. Barry served on the Board of Advisors for Camp America, a division of the American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS). He has also previously served as President, Vice President and Treasurer of the NJ Association of Private Camps, and as a Board Member of the American Camp Association.
Ruth Ann has been a Camp Director for 21 years. Prior to Eagle’s Landing, Ruth Ann was the Director of Eagle River Day Camp in Monroe for 8 years and the Head Counselor of Lake-Vu Day Camp for 4 years. Ruth Ann grew up in camp and spent many years working in non-profit facilities. She has served as an administrator at camps in both New Jersey and Delaware. Ruth Ann received her certification as a Pre-School teacher and as a Kindergarten teacher. She also supervised an after-school program working with children in grades K-8.
