Beyond Camps (formerly known as Michael Filipek Tennis and Sports Academy) will hold its Overnight Camp at Avon Old Farms School this summer. Located just outside of Hartford, CT, this is the perfect site for an adidas Tennis Camp.

Campers can choose from participating in Tennis only or Tennis & a multi-sport option held indoors in the air-conditioned gym throughout the week (variety of different sports). Sign up for this tennis camp experience to improve your serving, backhand and more!

Paula Zabala will be on site each day working with campers. Michael Filipek will work with Paula to create the curriculum and will be on site occasionally to work with campers.

Former Professional Tennis Player and Montessori Educator.

Born in Colombia, Paula relocated to the United States at age 12. Since then she has been fully involved in the tennis field. Paula was consistently a nationally ranked tennis player and received a scholarship to attend Florida International University.

After graduating with a Psychology and Business Degree Paula turned pro and joined the WTA tour where she earned rankings of WTA #368 in singles and #312 in doubles. Paula played on the Fed Cup team for Colombia in 2010. After her professional tennis professional, Paula became a PTR Certified Tennis Professional and has 13 years of tennis teaching experience with both adults and junior players of all levels.

Paula joined the Beyond Camps Team in 2011, serving as the Assistant Director for various summers as well as working for successful tennis junior programs in New York City where she met Director Michael Filipek.

Paula obtained her Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education and has 6 years of experience as a Montessori Educator.

Paula's Montessori experience allows her to seek how to best interact with each particular student’s personality, learning methods and athletic ability to help each student feel proud of his or her increasing skills.

Paula brings her passion and lifetime experiences as a player, coach and educator to Beyond Camps. Your child is in amazing hands with Paula!

Overnight: Check In Sunday 2-3pm at Pelican Dorm, Check Out Friday at the dorm building for early dismissal- time Pelican Dorm.

Extended Day and Day Campers: Check In Monday 8:30am at the courts, Check Out for Extended Day Campers is 6:15pm each day. Day Campers check out is 5pm each day except on Friday at 4pm.

Any Camper who must cancel their registration more than fifteen (15) days prior to the Camp start date will receive a voucher equal to the full amount of Camp tuition already paid which may be used toward any program or camp offered by eCamps. If a Camper must cancel their registration fourteen (14) days or fewer prior to the start of Camp, eCamps will issue Camper or Parent a voucher equal to 50% of the Camp tuition, which may be used toward any program or camp offered by eCamps.   Vouchers are valid for any eCamps program within the same or next calendar year and are also transferable to another family member.  Camp vouchers are not extended to Campers who leave Camp after the start of a session. The $25 registration fee is non-refundable.
