Situated on 400 acres, Choate is known for its academic excellence. Beyond Camps (formerly known as Michael Filipek Tennis and Sports Academy) located in central Connecticut, is a perfect spot for a day camp as campers will train at Choate's beautiful 14 tennis court complex.

Paula Zabala will be on site each day working with campers. Michael Filipek will work with Paula to create the curriculum and will be on site occasionally to work with campers.

Coach: Paula Zabala

Former Professional Tennis Player and Montessori Educator.

Born in Colombia, Paula relocated to the United States at age 12. Since then she has been fully involved in the tennis field. Paula was consistently a nationally ranked tennis player and received a scholarship to attend Florida International University.

After graduating with a Psychology and Business Degree Paula turned pro and joined the WTA tour where she earned rankings of WTA #368 in singles and #312 in doubles. Paula played on the Fed Cup team for Colombia in 2010. After her professional tennis professional, Paula became a PTR Certified Tennis Professional and has 13 years of tennis teaching experience with both adults and junior players of all levels.

Paula joined the Beyond Camps Team in 2011, serving as the Assistant Director for various summers as well as working for successful tennis junior programs in New York City where she met Director Michael Filipek.

Paula obtained her Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education and has 6 years of experience as a Montessori Educator.

Paula's Montessori experience allows her to seek how to best interact with each particular student’s personality, learning methods and athletic ability to help each student feel proud of his or her increasing skills.

Paula brings her passion and lifetime experiences as a player, coach and educator to Beyond Camps. Your child is in amazing hands with Paula!

Campers will train on the beautiful 14 court tennis complex. Don't miss out on one of the finest Connecticut tennis camps.

Rain Plan: If it's a full day of rain. We start activities in the morning indoors and then if still not able to play on afternoon go to Rocky Hill Indoor Club.

High School Players: We will have high school and tournament players in in camp and will be grouped together.

EXTENDED DAY OPTION Available:

Mon-Thurs Pick up between 5:00pm-5:15pm. Friday checkout is 4pm

HALF DAY OPTION: For 5-7 year olds interested in doing the half day camp option from 9am-12pm, please contact support@TennisCamper.com

Any Camper who must cancel their registration more than fifteen (15) days prior to the Camp start date will receive a voucher equal to the full amount of Camp tuition already paid which may be used toward any program or camp offered by eCamps. If a Camper must cancel their registration fourteen (14) days or fewer prior to the start of Camp, eCamps will issue Camper or Parent a voucher equal to 50% of the Camp tuition, which may be used toward any program or camp offered by eCamps.   Vouchers are valid for any eCamps program within the same or next calendar year and are also transferable to another family member.  Camp vouchers are not extended to Campers who leave Camp after the start of a session. The $25 registration fee is non-refundable.
