Learn how to practice well is essential to the development and success of every music student. Repeating bad habits, lack of focused attention, and the inability to extract specific issues and deal with them efficiently: these are challenges that students face in the practice. A practice coach can help eliminate these destructive habits and improve the student’s ability to practice with maximum efficiency.

A good practice coach can be an invaluable part of a serious music student’s progress. We hope you’ll take advantage of this unique opportunity to dramatically improve the productivity of your practice time ! 

Trombone Practice Coaching:

  • Provide feed back so that mistakes and bad habits will not be repeated during daily practice
  • Guide the student to practice the hard part methodically

Matthew is a Music Education student at the Texas Tech School of Music in Lubbock, Texas. Matthew has been playing the Trombone since the 5th grade and has been growing in his love for the instrument ever since. Throughout his time in high school, he was a 4 time competitor in the Texas University Interscholastic League (UIL) State Solo and Ensemble contest and was a constant guest trombonist in the Trinity University Jazz Band. Additionally, he was a 3 time participant in the TMEA Region 12 Band, participant in the Region 12 Jazz Band, and was a featured musician in multiple marching band shows. Matthew has written and arranged multiple pieces for chamber, band, and orchestra ensembles and is an experienced conductor. During his time in high school, he was also a leader in his high school band as a Trombone Section Leader, Brass Captain, and Band Council Vice President. Now in college, Matthew is the recipient of scholarships from the TTU Trombone Studio, Jazz Studio, and Marching Band, as well as academic scholarships. He currently plays in the top Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble, a brass quintet, the top Trombone Choir, and the marching band. Matthew loves music and his passion is to help young trombonists learn and grow in their craft through guided practice, fundamentals, techniques, and music theory!

If the trial lesson doesn’t meet your expectations, we’ll gladly help you connect with another top-rated, highly qualified tutor—or issue a FULL refund.

Refund for Lesson Packages

You may cancel a lesson package with at least 24 hours' written notice before the next lesson. Completed lessons will be billed at the standard hourly rate, and the remaining balance will be refunded minus a 5% processing fee. The fee is waived if you keep the balance as credit on your TimeAfterSchool account for other lessons.

Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

  • Standard Policy: Provide at least 24 hours' notice before the scheduled start time to cancel or reschedule a lesson free of charge. Cancellations or reschedules with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur the full lesson fee.
  • Grace Period for Packages: For each packages of 10 or more lessons, you are allowed one late cancellation or rescheduling (with less than 24 hours' notice) without penalty to accommodate unexpected situations. Any additional late cancellations or changes beyond this one-time exception will be charged in full.

Adult Supervision

All tutoring sessions for students under 18 years old must be supervised by a responsible adult.
